Despite the rain, the first session of the Athlete Accelerator Program, held by the Sylvania Heights Netball Club, was a resounding success. The energy was high, and the athletes were eager to learn and improve their skills.
A Rainy but Rewarding Day
The weather may have been against us, but that didn't dampen the spirits of our athletes. The session was cut short due to the rain, but not before our athletes had a chance to dive into some valuable training. The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by each participant were truly inspiring, proving that a little rain is no match for their determination.
Learning and Growing Together
The session was filled with learning, growth, and lots of fun. Our athletes were taught the importance of commitment and dedication to all areas of netball, including passing, footwork, fitness, attack and defence, and being a team player. The athletes were also introduced to the concept of self-training outside of the program training dates, further emphasising the importance of personal commitment to improvement.
Looking Forward
While the rain may have cut our first session short, it has only fueled our excitement for the next session. We look forward to seeing our athletes continue to grow and improve in the upcoming sessions.
The first session of the Athlete Accelerator Program was a testament to the resilience and dedication of our athletes. Despite the rain, they showed up ready to learn and left with valuable skills and a renewed passion for the game. We can't wait to see what the rest of the program has in store!
